Country singer Kenny Chesney‘s concert at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh on Saturday June 22 ended with a massive effort to clean up all the debris left behind by thousands of fans.
Kenny Chesney has come to Heinz field 5 of the last 6 years and inside about 55k fans enjoyed the No Shoes Nation Tour. Including the tailgating crowd outside this may have exceeded to an estimated 70k.
Three Rivers Power Sweep, Inc. The company that was responsible for all trash removal and cleaning for 20 surface lots around the stadium, told us the amount of trash generated was almost incomprehensible.
Leroy Stotler, Jr. from Three Rivers Power Sweep guessed that they removed approximately 400 cu yds of trash, 50 to 60,000lbs. Not including approx. 6k to 7k lbs of recycling materials.
Cleanup continued through Monday to remove the mounds of trash that was left behind
