We compiled a list of some of the most unusual and interesting roads in the world and which sweepers we would use to sweep them, if we dared to do so.
10 – Laws of physics defying Gravity Hills – Schwarze A8 Twister™ at its best.
A gravity hill, also known as a magnetic hill or gravity road is a place where the layout of the surrounding land produces the optical illusion that a very slight downhill slope appears to be an uphill slope. Here in Alabama we have our own Gravity Hill in Oak Grove where sweepers appear to coast uphill. The phenomenon has generated news coverage and curiosity seekers. It is on Old Highway 280, now named “Gravity Hill Road”, just off Highway 280 in the western part of Oak Grove toward Childersburg.
9 – World’s Shortest Street – Too short for the Supervac Aero™?
Ebenezer Place is the shortest street in the world, measuring just under 7 feet. There is only one house on that street, Number 1 Ebenezer Place, which was built in 1883. Lombard Street in San Francisco is famous for its bizarre hair-pin turns. There are eight of the turns and were added because the street would have been too steep for most vehicles.
